OUR VALUES
ABOUT US
At WOMA HATMAKERS, every hat begins long before it takes shape in our atelier. It begins in the land, in the rhythm of ancestral hands, and in the stories woven into every strand of toquilla palm. For us, a hat is not just an accessory—it is heritage, memory, and a bridge between tradition and contemporary design.
WOMA is not only about creating hats, but about creating connections. We work side by side with artisan communities, honoring their knowledge and ensuring fair, sustainable collaborations that empower their present and protect their future. To us, every collection is a conversation: between past and present, between hands and earth, between craft and artistry.
Craftsmanship
At WOMA, craftsmanship is heritage. Each hat is handwoven by Colombian artisans using ancestral techniques with toquilla palm, turning every piece into a story of patience, precision, and soul.
Less is Enough
Every collection is created with intention and respect for the artisans’ pace. We embrace slow production, valuing quality over quantity, and honoring the rhythm of handmade work.
Made to Last
We believe true luxury is timeless. Our hats are not seasonal trends, but heirloom-quality pieces designed to travel with you and remain part of your journey for years to come.
Working Conditions
WOMA exists to empower.
We collaborate with indigenous and local artisan communities under fair, respectful, and sustainable conditions, ensuring their knowledge and culture continue to flourish.
Sourcing and Packing
Our materials are natural and native—toquilla, iraca, and mawisa palm—sustainably harvested and carefully prepared. Each hat is delivered in organic cotton pouches or travel bags designed to protect and accompany your piece on any journey.
These reusable solutions reflect our commitment to sustainability and to reducing waste in every detail.
THE DESIGNER
For Juliana Granados, hats are more than objects of fashion—they are vessels of memory, heritage, and identity.
Born in Colombia and trained in design in Spain, Juliana’s creative journey began in the world of fashion, where she quickly discovered the industry’s contradictions: beauty built at the expense of the environment and human dignity.
That realization became her turning point. She chose to return to her roots, to listen to the wisdom of her land, and to honor tradition through creation.
In 2016, WOMA HATMAKERS was born out of that conviction. Inspired by the ancestral weaving of toquilla palm and the timeless work of indigenous artisans, Juliana envisioned a brand where craftsmanship is not just preserved, but celebrated.
For her, every hat is a dialogue between past and present—ancestral hands and contemporary design—carrying with it the soul of Colombia.
Her work is guided by respect: respect for nature, for time, for the artisans’ rhythm, and for the stories each weave contains.
Through WOMA, Juliana has transformed hats into more than accessories.
They are symbols of resilience, of culture kept alive, of beauty that does not harm, but instead sustains and empowers.
